Are M&C Saatchi in the frame for Freedom Furniture?
The Freedom Furniture advertising account – worth in the region of $10m – appears to be up for grabs, Mumbrella can reveal. The account last moved in 2006, when it was picked up by The Foundry.
Although nobody from Freedom Furniture’s parent company Steinhoff would comment, Mumbrella understands that M&C Saatchi are among the agencies that have pitched for the business. M&C Saatchi boss Tom Dery was also spotted in Melbourne with the client at the end of the year.
This morning, Steinhoff was referring questions to its marketing director who returns to work next week. Dery was travelling and out of reach today, while M&C Saatchi’s PR spokeswoman said she knew of no announcement.
Cummins Nitro currently does catalogue work for Freedom, while Carat is understood to do the media buying.
