ARIA Awards returns to Network Ten
The ARIA Awards will return to Network Ten after the Australian music event was last year broadcast on rival station, Nine.
Prior to 2009, Ten had broadcast 15 of the last 16 ceremonies. But questions arose last year over whether it would go to air and on which network when the broadcaster let its contract lapse.
Ten has this year taken the broadcast rights back and signed a multi-year deal.
The network added that with the ARIAs to be held following its broadcast of the Commonwealth Games in October, the music event will have “a multitude of changes”.
David Mott, Ten chief programming officer, said it is known for its “big event TV moments” with finales for shows such as Australian Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and Masterchef.
“We see the ARIA Awards in the same exact category. Be prepared for something more this year,” he said.
