ARIA Charts: Missy Higgins back at #1
Missy Higgins has returned for The Second Act, her first album in six years, and her fourth #1 album in Australia.
In doing so, she has knocked Sabrina Carpenter from the top of the Albums chart, where the US pop star rested for two weeks.
Fred Again… has debuted at #3 with his album Ten Days – oddly enough, also the title of a previous Missy Higgins single – while Pink Floyd legend Dave Gilmour’s latest album, Luck and Strange, has debuted at #6.
Lower down, Linkin Park’s greatest hits jumped from #26 to #14 as news of their new singer divides the internet, and Laufey’s Bewitched jumps back into the charts at #11, thanks to a new expanded Goddess Edition.
The Singles chart is extremely uneventful this week as Sabrina Carpenter’s various album tracks drop down the chart.
The highest debut was The Emptiness Machine from Linkin Park, at #27, while a series of classic songs have reentered in the lower reaches, thanks to various movie appearances, including The Killers’ perennial hit, Mr Brightside, back in at #47, and Dreams from Fleetwood Mac sitting at #50.
