ARN appoints national marketing director

Australian Radio Network has announced the appointment of Anthony Xydis as national marketing director.

The announcement:

Australian Radio Network (ARN) today announced the appointment of Anthony Xydis as National Marketing Director, joining the National Leadership team.

Anthony began working with ARN in a consulting capacity in March 2013 and brings over 10 year’s executive level marketing experience to ARN, primarily focused on building media brands. He was previously the Marketing Director at Adshel overseeing both Australia and New Zealand and, most recently, was International Marketing Director and International Brand Director for Clear Channel, with responsibility for all markets outside of the US across Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

ARN’s CEO Ciaran Davis said: “The shift in strategic direction for ARN in becoming a contemporary media and entertainment company is our key focus and this includes a significant renewal of our marketing investment. Over the past six months Anthony has contributed to a review of the marketing strategy and worked closely with myself and the entire National Leadership Team in the development of a unified vision of the ARN brand and strategic position. It’s a great pleasure to have him officially join the team.”

Anthony Xydis says: “I’m excited to be part of the renewed strategic direction for ARN. With some of Australia’s best on-air talent I look forward to being part of the ongoing development of the suite of on-air, online and mobile brands, delivering content to Australia’s most valuable audiences”.

Anthony replaces ARN’s Jodie Koning, who moves into the newly created part-time position of Senior Marketing Manager (with a focus on consumer marketing), after returning from maternity leave.

ARN’s dual brand strategy with a MIX and Classic Hits network in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane reaches over 4 million listeners, making ARN one of the leading broadcasters in the commercially important 25 – 54 demographic in Australia.
