ARN launches campaign to support local retail
Radio network ARN has released a campaign to support the local retail industry. Carrying the strapline ‘Get vocal, buy local’, the campaign will run on MIX and Classic Hits nationally from Monday.
The campaign will be run by the stations’ breakfast teams who will voice the promo spots.
Copy for one of the ads reads:
Next time you shop, ponder this… Australia wide, over one point two million people work in retail. One point two million mums, dads, brothers, sisters, sons & daughters…someone you know, someone you care about, even someone you love earns their living from retail. But local retailers are doing it tough.
So at WSFM we’re asking you to get vocal and buy local.
Because when you support your local retailers, you’re building the future.
So c’mon people – Get vocal
Headline: “… support local radio” or ‘retail’??

I think it’s a nice idea.If nothing else it might prompt some thought around there being a flipside to shopping overseas.I wonder how many Australian students ebay will be employing this Christmas?

It would be great to buy local however when they dont stock the products you want and/or get bad service then why bother locally……afterall we are in a global economy!!!
