ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network continues to dominate Australian Podcast Ranker
The Australian Podcast ranker continues to be dominated by titles from ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, which holds the top two most-downloaded podcasts in Australia.
Also retaining the title of #1 podcast publisher in Australia (with over 11 million monthly downloads across 346 active podcasts), ARN has the most popular radio catch-up podcast as well with The Kyle and Jackie O Show. The Top 5 publishers were rounded out by SCA and News Corp, as well as dedicated independents Stitcher and Audioboom.
The latest Australian Podcast Ranker covered the period from September 1 to September 30, using Triton Digital’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.
ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia has three titles in the Top 10, including Stuff You Should Know which remains at #1. The Kyle and Jackie O Show is at #4 while Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne remains in the bracket at #9.
The next-highest ranked radio catch-up was NOVA Entertainment’s Kate, Tim & Joel, which remained in seventh place despite the recent departure of Marty Sheargold and addition of Joel Creasey to the show.
The only new podcast to join the Top 10 is News Corp Australia’s The Night Driver, which rose 51 places compared with the previous ranker measuring August listening.
The highest debut on the latest ranker came from Western Australian Newspapers’ CLAREMONT: The Trial which landed at #37 in its first week on the chart.
Meanwhile, there are three new entries in the All-Australian Top 100 with The New South Wales Briefing (Southern Cross Austereo), League Pass and Chill (News Corp Australia), and The Imperfects (ARN/iHeartMedia) all debuting.
Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime retains the #1 spot, continuing to prove the strength of the true crime genre in Australia.
ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network continues to grow its library, this week releasing a new titled Stuff Of Legends hosted by Gold104.3 presenter Christian O’Connell.
The podcast will see him chatting with some of the world’s best storytellers including Celeste Barber, Hamish Blake, Russell Brand, Ricky Gervais, Wil Anderson, and Adam Hills.
For this latest ranker, Nine Radio’s library was expanded to include podcasts from Nine’s Digital and Publishing divisions.
