Athens Biennale appoints Kate Lillian Muir as international strategic relations and communication director

Athens Biennale has appointed Kate Lillian Muir, on behalf of her agency A Good Plan Group, as its its international strategic relations and communication director.

The announcement:

Athens Biennale have appointed Kate Lillian Muir as their International Strategic Relations and Communication Director. The announcement bolsters the event’s global significance and ambition by adding the capacity of Muir’s strategic planning and communication agency A Good Plan Group into the partnership.

The dynamic partnership is grounded in strategic planning, international media and PR communications and the development of corporate and philanthropic support which encompasses the upcoming AB7: ECLIPSE, the development of complimentary projects and planning towards a sustainable and growth-focused future for the cultural program.

“Partnerships like this are so rare. They teeter on the push and pull of romance, wonder, curiosity and beauty versus strategic tangibility and business acumen. It is at this balance point that I and A Good Plan Group have found our sweet spot. It is in the midst of this dichotomy that our skills, ideas and experience are in best use and in full flight,” says Kate Lillian Muir, founder and director of A Good Plan group.

Poka-Yio, co-founder and Artistic Director of Athens Biennale shares: “Kate and a good plan group mirror our explorative optimism and throw traditional ideas and boundaries out the window in pursuit of bringing the right people, conversations, collaborators and ideas together at the right time.”

In a conversation in Athens, Greece Poka-Yio shared his view with Kate on the purpose of a Biennale “it is to slice through and capture a cross section of a moment in time, which when stacked and reviewed as a series the Biennial shows us who we were, who we want to be, what we were changing, struggling with or celebrating at that time. In its own way, it captures our evolution.”

Kate adds “It was at this moment that I realised I wanted to support Poka Yio’s vision, as this organisation shared my values in the belief that it is the responsibility of artists, through their form, to act as the social conscious of their time.”

The 7th Athens Biennale is co-financed by the Hellenic Republic and the European Union through the Regional Operational Programme of “Attica” in the framework of NSRF 2014-2020, performs under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports and is realised in partnership with Onassis Culture. AB7: ECLIPSE is produced by the Athens Biennale.

A Good Plan Group will continue to share news, announcements and programming regarding the Athens Biennale programs. For further information, interview requests and artist information please contact on the details below.
