Audience Group appoints Gold Coast-based group account director

Audience Group has appointed Nerine Lamour as group account director, operating out of the Gold Coast. Audience Group has also won Star Liquor as a client.

Full-service, independent media agency Audience Group has solidified its support for Gold Coast clients with a new locally-based Group Account Director, and marked the expansion by winning the business of Queensland institution, Star Liquor.

“Nerine Lamour is well-established in the Gold Coast marketing sector, and we’re pleased to announce she will lead our Gold Coast satellite office. Nerine has certainly hit the ground running by playing a critical role in bringing Star Liquor on as a client,” said Tom Evans, Managing Director, Audience Group.

Lamour joins Audience Group from a twelve-year stint as Senior Client Business Executive at Starcom Worldwide, where she worked with national and international clients. Earlier in her career, Lamour was in television sales and production with Channel 7 and regional Prime TV.

Reflecting on commuting to Brisbane for a decade in her most recent role, once they closed their Gold Coast offices, Lamour said, “That’s not an ideal set-up for clients in this city. They want the local access, service and expertise they deserve. This is a robust business community that, like most places, is striving to bounce back from Covid-19. I’m happy to be able to extend Audience Group’s unique offering and focus my attention here, where I’ve lived for 20 years.”

Star Liquor is a well-known chain of retail liquor outlets, and a family business that has been in operation for decades. As an organisation, it values relationship-building and an understanding of the unique nature of the Queensland market, and has selected Lamour and Audience Group to provide its agency representation.

Audience Group sees a lot of potential in the Gold Coast, a part of the country that was thriving and growing rapidly before the global pandemic hit, and said the timing is right to put a team on the ground.

“Businesses in this region – such as property developers, retail chains, hospitality groups, entertainment companies and others – have a lot of data they could be using to stimulate business recovery,” said Evans. “Because of our approach to audience targeting and applying data science to advertising, marketing and media strategy, Audience Group knows how to help them to best use their data to reinvigorate that growth.”
