Aussie horror film Redd Inc marked as 'world first'

Independent producer Jonathon Green has developed an innovative new concept allowing everyday people to become part of a professional horror film – Redd Inc.

Hailed as a world first,  aspiring actors , film makers, designers and musicians can upload videos, images, artwork and music to an interactive website. The footage is then ranked by website users to determine which content will make the final cut.

“This is the first dramatic feature film in the world to incorporate user-generated content in this way, enabling regular people with creative ambition to hear their song played in a movie, or see a 30-second commercial they directed appear on a television in a scene,” said Green.

The Australian production is described as a ” horror revenge story featuring Redd, the boss from hell. It is set in the most horrific, terrifyingly evil place of all… the office! People keen to explore their creative side and participate in the film can view a range of scripts, scenarios and guidelines at the website to prepare their submissions.”

Green said “We’re proving that originality and imagination are in abundance on the Redd Inc website, and we’re also seeing people have a lot of fun with the horror genre, especially given the unique office setting. It is gratifying to watch people who don’t normally get a chance or who might not have the courage or time to express their creativity surprise themselves by stepping up. We are already seeing lots of inspired submissions and look forward to many more.”

Redd Inc is currently in pre-production and set for release in October next year.

Submissions to the website close at the end next month.
