Chris Adams and Steve Kearney to speak at Gold Coast Film Festival

Founders of industry consultation company Adams Kearney;  Chris Adams and Steve Kearney will give a keynote presentation as part of an industry mini conference held at this years Gold Coast Film Festival in November.

The conference will center around the theme ‘Bringing Australian Stories to Hollywood’ and will also include speakers on distribution and screen writing.  

Chris Adams is described as an “entertainment industry executive with nearly twenty years of experience in accelerating businesses within the media space. His new venture Adams Kearney specialised in developing scripts with Australian origin into projects with commercial appeal in the US and worldwide. He currently has several projects in development and production with Kearney ranging in budget from US$500,000 to US$150 million.”

Steve Kearney is an actor-turned-producer – his most recent accolade as executive producer being Jucy which screened at the Toronto International Film Festival last week.

In the keynote address Adams and Kearney will “discuss how to develop projects with Australian origin into viable scripts that can be set up and sold into the global marketplace; Adams and Kearney’s personal experiences in the US and Australian film industry; advice to emerging filmmakers and will include 30 minutes of question and answer from the floor.”

Adams said “I am very excited to be a part of this great festival and believe that its focus on bringing Hollywood to the Gold Coast- and Australia – is very timely. Australia is much more than a located for producers to leverage various offsets and rebates or a springboard for talented actors, writers and directors to jump their careers North; Australia is a place and a people filled with ideas, IP, scripts and stories that are on par with anything I have seen anywhere in the world. And it is our goal to both celebrate and accelerate these stories and talent people onto the world stage.”

The ‘Bringing Australian Stories to Hollywood’ mini conference is free of charge.

The Gold Coast Film Festival presented by Australia Fair Shopping Centre, will be held November 10 – 16 at Australia Fair Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas in Southport.
