Austar corporate development director Deanne Weir to depart after 10 years

After 10 years with the company, Austar’s group director of corporate development Deanne Weir is to leave in the wake of the Austar merger with Foxtel.

Weir’s exit emerges the week after XYZ Networks CEO Bruce Mann and Nikki Warburton, Austar’s group director for product, sales and marketing, both announced their exits.

Weir told Mumbrella: “I’m very sad after ten years with Austar to say goodbye to a fantastic bunch of people. But the timing is right for me to explore new avenues. I wish them all the best.”

She added: “The new executive team has a good blend of Foxtel and Austar people, which Richard [Freudenstein, the CEO of Foxtel] will announce in due course.”

Weir is to take a break from the industry, but will continue to fulfill her commitments on the board of Screen Australia and Access Innovation Media.

She will leave Austar at the end of May.
