Austereo breakfast host Matt Tilley hospitalised after road smash

matt tilley injured fox fmAustereo’s Melbourne market leading radio station Fox FM is temporarily without breakfast host Matt Tilley after he was involved in a collision with a car while riding his bike over the weekend.

The accident happened in St Kilda, leaving him with two fractured vertebrae, renal contusion and a fractured rib.  

He has since been released from The Alfred Hospital.

In a statement, the radio company said: “Austereo management has urged Matt to take as long as he needs to get back on his feet.”

Tilley took part in a phone interview with co-presenter Jo Stanley this morning. He said: “I was riding along past the St Kilda Sea Baths… and got knocked off my bike by a guy who swung across the bike lane… and just ‘smash’. And I sort of did the human tumbleweed along the road for a while.”
