Australian critics choose Balibo as best film of 2009
The Australian Film Crtics Association has published the result of its annual film awards, with Robert Connolly’s Balibo chosen as the year’s best Australian film.

Commended: Moon, The Wrestler
Best documentary
Of Time and the City
Commended: Encounters at the End of the World, Capitalism: A Love Story
Best unreleased film
Un Lac (France)
Commended: Love Exposure (Japan)
The AFCA also announced the winners of its inaugural Film Writing Awards:
Writing on Australian film: Therese Davis for “Loving Samson & Delilah”
Review of an individual Australian film: Alice Tynan for Disgrace
Writing on non-Australian film: Martyn Pedler for “Fake Politics for the Real America”
Review of an individual non-Australian film: Stephen Rowley for 2012.
