Australian embassy rewards aspiring Indonesian filmmakers

The Australian Embassy in Jakarta has announced Ariel Ezra Bazaliel and Kevin Johanes as the winners of its climate change short film competition with the animated Nature’s Memory.

The winners will visit Perth to present their film and learn about climate change.

The competition was organised in conjunction with the Indonesian Nobel Foundation, the Climate Project Indonesia and Perth Education City.

Australian ambassador Bill Farmer said the competition should be “highly appreciated because it highlighted youth concerns and created awareness of new directions in education and industry resulting from the global issue of climate change”, in addition to generating new skills for future high school graduates.
