Australian Event Awards launches
A new awards event has been launched – to recognise Australia’s best events.
The Australian Event Awards will take place across 23 categories and culminate in a ceremony on October 8.
The organisers say the initiative will encompass business, cultural, sporting and community events from all over Australia.
The awards are being co-chaired by Sandy Hollway, former CEO of the Sydney organising committee for the Olympics and John Allen, Foundation Director of the Australian Centre for Event Management.
Hollway said: “There is an increasing level of Australian skills and expertise in major events internationally, and it is time the industry recognised and rewarded that.”
Categories vary from the best conference, to the best corporate event, to the best venue and the best marketing campaign.
