Australian retail media platform Zitcha expands into North America

Australian retail media platform Zitcha has entered the North American market, following the first client win in Canada.

The platform was selected to launch a full digital retail media network for a hardware and agricultural specialist chain, Peavey Mart. The brand has 90 stores across Canada, and eCommerce operations.

Zitcha will handle Peavey Mart’s end-to-end digital retail media network, such as on-site sponsored products; sponsored ads and banners; off-site media channels of Meta and Google; and in-store retail media, including a digital screen network once introduced.

More announcements of North American clients are expected soon. The win came after Zitcha landed a major partnership with Village Cinema locally, tapping into the retailer’s first-party loyalty data.

Zitcha, launched by Hatched founder Jack Byrne and founder of The Pistol, Troy Townsend, already works with a roster of retailers, including Coles Liquor Group and The Warehouse Group in New Zealand.

Nick Hinsley, chief commercial officer at Zitcha said: “North America is the most developed and competitive retail media environment in the world and a strategically important one for Zitcha.

“We are in discussions with a number of leading retailers in Canada and the United States, but are especially pleased that a major brand like Peavey Mart has already recognised the breadth, depth and functionality the Zitcha platform offers across retail media.

“They have ambitious plans to build and develop their offering and Zitcha will support them every step of the way.”

Jest Sidloski, VP of marketing and customer experience at Peavey Industries, parent company of Peavey Mart, Ace Canada and MainStreet Hardware brands, said: “The entry into retail media represents a significant development for Peavey Mart in our more than 55 year history.

“In addition to connecting brand advertisers with our large and diverse customer base, enabling them to deliver more targeted and effective communications along the path to purchase, it will drive additional new growth for the business.

“We welcome the opportunity to leverage Zitcha’s full digital retail media platform and will draw on their expertise as we embark on this journey.”
