Hyundai are asking Australians to get behind women’s soccer team The Matildas by writing messages of support on a new i30 N car.

Australians urged to take to a brand new Hyundai with a permanent market – But there’s a catch

Fans are used to having their jerseys signed by their favourite football players, but this time the roles will be reversed.

Football fans will be given a unique opportunity to sign their messages of support on a brand-new Hyundai car all in the name of supporting the amazing Matildas, Australia’s national women’s football team, as they brace themselves for a grueling World Cup campaign.

The high-performance Hyundai i30 N started its journey at the Hyundai A-League Grand Final in Perth, and will collect messages from fans around Australia before uniting with The Matildas in France for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Each message will act as a show of support from home, providing inspiration to The Matildas, whilst also reminding the players who they are doing this for, and where they come from.

From its launch at the Hyundai A-League Grand Final on 19th May, to when the glorious green and gold Hyundai i30 N meets the Matildas in France in early-June, the messages collected from fans in Australia will have travelled more than 25,000kms for the team. It’s all in an effort to help grow and support the women’s game, whilst also encouraging Australians to get behind their team.

Chief Executive Officer of Football Federation Australia, Mr David Gallop AM, believes that these messages of support will spur the team on when the Matildas kick off their World Cup campaign in France.

“It’s not easy to travel overseas and play at such a high level in unfamiliar territory, but our team will be well prepared for their Group C challenges against Italy, Brazil, and Jamaica.

“We’ve worked really hard with Hyundai to take the home crowd to France and to remind the Matildas every time they step out on the field that the whole of Australia is behind them, which is a truly inspirational feeling.

“Our Matildas already inspire millions of kids in schools and grassroots clubs around Australia, but during this FIFA Women’s World Cup I know that they are determined to truly capture the imagination of the nation through their performances in France.”

Hyundai Australia CEO JW Lee, says that they are extremely proud of their relationship with the Matildas.

“Our commitment has always been to help grow the sport in Australia and make it as inclusive as possible to all our young female players.”

“We want to ensure our Matildas feel the full support of Australia as they push for glory in France, and to let all the young girls know that when they too reach the same level, they will have the full support of an entire nation behind them.”

The Hyundai i30 N will travel from Perth to Melbourne and finally to Sydney with a number of stops along the way, including a special visit to Matilda’s Captain Sam Kerr’s primary school in Samson.
