Australia’s top brand Facebook page? Bananas in pyjamas
The most popular branded Facebook page in Australia is for Bananas in pyjamas, according to a new report from digital media agency Online Circle.
The classic kids TV show’s Facebook page comes out ahead of the likes of Pringles, MasterChef, Coca Cola, Neighbours, KFC and McDonald’s with 1.765m fans for the month of October.
In terms of engagement, the telco industry is ahead – this is driven primarily by Vodafone and Telstra’s 24-hour support services, Online Circle reckons.
The world’s most famous brand, Coca-Cola, leads in the way in the soft drinks sector on Facebook.
Pizza maker Domino’s, which is known to use Facebook as a customer feedback channel, leads the way in fast food, followed by KFC and McDonald’s.
Leading the fashion retail sector on Facebook is Lorna Jane, followed by Jay Jays and Supre.
Convenience store 7Eleven has the edge over Woolworths and Coles in the grocery retail sector.
In the telco sector, Vodafone is out in front. Telstra’s customer service is next, followed by Optus.
Home & Away and MasterChef come in behind Bananas and pyjamas on Facebook for TV shows.
“Once you pop, you can’t stop” Pringles is ahead in the hotly contest snack foods category, beating Australia’s famous spread Vegemite.
Games console Xbox tops the list for electronics.
Daily deals site Catch of the day is ahead of Target and David Jones in what Online Circle calls the ‘department store‘ category.
And CommBank tops the lot in the banking sector.
Holden is out in front in in the car market, followed by Kia and Jeep. Kia recently courted controversy on its global Facebook page by posting a picture of an African child with the words ‘Like if you want to stop her tears’. Jeep Australia was accused of sexism only last week for its Facebook activity.
Wine brand Yellow Tail leads the way for booze brands.

Not sure how data was collected but triple j (like Bananas in Pyjamas) an ABC brand has 558,865 fans today (& would have had roughly that amount in October) and has been left off the top 20 list… wonder who else has been left off?
