Ava Lawler departs Weber Shandwick after five years
The managing director of PR agency Weber Shandwick, Ava Lawler, has departed the agency after five years in the role.
Lawler has departed the firm for personal reasons and is currently on sabbatical for the remainder of the year.
“I’m grateful for the five years I spent at Weber. We had a lot of fun and I was honoured to work with a talented team on some amazing award-winning campaigns. However, after losing my mum to cancer last year I decided to take some time out to spend time with family.
“I’m still enjoying my break and will think about my next steps over the coming months,” Lawler said in a statement to Mumbrella.
Lawler joined Weber Shandwick in 2013 from her previous four year stint as Text 100’s global consultancy director.
A spokesperson from Weber Shandwick, added: “After five years leading Weber Shandwick Australia, Ava Lawler decided to step away from the business for personal reasons. Ava’s decision came after careful consideration and allows her to spend more time with family.
“Australian chairman, Ian Rumsby, currently leads the agency, supported by an exceptionally talented and strong management team.”

Good luck Ava. Turned that agency office around, no question. Interesting to see who takes on the leadership role.
