Avis Budget Group appoints Red Agency to PR account

Car rental company Avis Budget Group has appointed Red Agency to its public relations account, Mumbrella can reveal.

Red Agency’s appointment comes two months after Ikon Communications won the business’ strategy, creative, media and social accounts.

Avis Budget Group’s PR will now be done by Red Agency

In Australia and New Zealand, Avis Budget Group also owns car rental brands Payless and Apex.

The win comes just weeks after Red Agency CEO James Wright announced he would be relocating to New York to take on the role of global chairman of Havas PR Collective and CEO of Havas PR for North America.

In April Red Agency won the PR account for South Australian Tourism, while in February the agency launched a new experiential agency Village Blvd to strengthen it’s content and technology offering.

Red Agency declined to comment, while Avis Budget Group had not responded to Mumbrella at the time of publishing.

Other clients of Red Agency include Coca-Cola, Toyota, South Australia Tourism Commission, Heineken and Western Sydney University.
