AWARD calls for committee members
AWARD, the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association, has called for nominations for committee positions, as The Communications Council-run organisation looks for new ways to develop the creative industries.
The announcement:
AWARD is today calling for expressions of interest for committee positions.
AWARD is inviting nominations from creatively minded individuals, keen to progress the AWARD agenda of promoting commercial creativity, education, membership and the next generation of creative talent.
Successful committee members can then select involvement across four of five portfolios: the industry’s yearly festival of Commercial Creativity ‘Circus’, AWARD Membership, Events and the annual AWARD Awards.
“Having made great progress in the last 12 months, it’s time continue to build the momentum AWARD has. So if you’ve got ideas and energy to contribute, we’d like you to nominate,” said Daniel Leesong, CEO of The Communications Council. “AWARD is only as strong, dynamic and powerful as the people who participate in it. With your involvement, we will make AWARD bigger, better and stronger.”
All nominated candidates will be voted on by AWARD members.
Specific requirements for nominations are:
- Being prepared to make the time and effort to deliver for the industry for up to three years
- Attending approximately 6-8 meetings a year and do some AWARD work in between.
- Having a creative background in any of the following: agency, design, production, music, digital, fashion, architecture, photography or media
- Being a current member of AWARD (If you’re not a current member, SIGN UP HERE ).
If you tick these boxes, the next steps are:
- Send in your name, company, email address and a headshot
- Provide 100 words or less on why you would like to join the committee and what you think you can contribute.
AWARD is chaired by Craig Davis, Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Mojo.
Deadline for nominations is Wednesday 25 May, with voting open from Monday 30 May to Thursday 2 June. New committee members will be announced early June.
