Bachelor wins demos for Ten but The Block takes Wednesday night

The Bachelor won the key advertising demographics last night for Ten, beating out Nine’s The Block across the 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 age groups.

However, across total people The Block won the night in entertainment with 980,000 metro viewers tuning in, easily ahead of The Bachelor’s 805,000.

Ten’s success with The Bachelor didn’t extend across the rest of the night with its main channel share of 13.7% for the evening only just beating out the ABC’s 11.8%, and well behind Seven’s 19.7% and Nine’s 21.9%.

Along with The Block, Nine saw Hot Seat and Bite Club make the top 20 most-watched shows with 461,000 and 456,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s performance for the evening was driven by news with the main bulletin topping the night with 996,000.

With the first week of the AFL finals approaching, Seven’s Front Bar footy show had 285,000 Melbourne viewers tuning in and 401,000 across the five capital cities.

Total network shares saw Nine’s 28.5% hold off Seven’s 27.7%. Ten took 20.2% while the ABC attracted 16.9% of the night’s audience. SBS took a 6.6% share.
