The Bachelorette climbs but can’t top The Big Bang Theory

The Bachelorette last night dragged in 81,000 more viewers than last week, with an episode that saw Georgia Love venture to the homes of the four remaining contestants, but was still only second in the 7.30pm timeslot.

The program grabbed 692,000 viewers and was the top program across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49, 25-54).

Despite the increase, a new episode of The Big Bang Theory on Nine managed to hold the win for the second consecutive week as the most watched non-news program at 7.30pm.

It had an audience of 694,000 viewers, down from last week’s premiere episode, which grabbed an audience of 854,000. 

The Bachelorette, which aired until 9pm managed to win the 8:00pm slot ahead of Seven’s World’s Angriest, Nine’s Big Bang Theory repeat episode, and the ABC’s Silvia’s Italian Table.

The ABC’s Silvia’s Italian Table, grabbed 495,000 viewers.

This was ahead of Seven’s World’s Angriest which pulled 413,000 viewers in the same time slot.

In the news battleground, Seven News won the night with 938,000 viewers in the 6:00pm slot, and 882,000 in the 6:30pm time slot.

Nine News was left lagging with 808,000 tuning in at 6pm and 781,000 at 6:30pm.

 

Nine’s Better late than never, which ran in the 8:30pm slot achieved an audience of 479,000, down from last week’s 539,000.

In the shares, Seven won the night at 17.4% ahead of Nine at 16.3%. Channel Ten wasn’t far behind with an audience share of 15.3% while the ABC could only muster 11.6%.
