Bastion Collective spins off creative services into new agency Bastion State

Independent agency network Bastion Collective has relaunched its creative services arm as an individual agency named Bastion State.

Led by chief executive officer Kristen Boschma, the 15-person agency will operate as an independent entity with its own P&L within the Bastion Collective network.

The agency currently has Kia, Mt Baw Baw and La Trobe on its client roster and says it has picked up three new accounts which it can’t name.

Creative output will be led by former DDB creative director Jim Ritchie, who joined Bastion Collective last year.

Founded by brothers Fergus and Jack Watts in 2009, Bastion Collective now has nine individual agencies within its network. These include Bastion Effect, Bastion Live, Bastion TLG, Bastion Latitude and Bastion EBA and the recently-launched Bastion Engage and Bastion China.

Network CEO Jack Watts said: “The launch of Bastion State makes great sense for the business. Over the last two years we’ve recruited some of the industry’s finest talent to provide the best creative solutions for our existing clients – it only makes sense that they now stand together under the Bastion State banner and seize the opportunity to do the same for the broader market.”
