Bauer Media has announced that Dress for Success, a global not-for profit which empowers women to achieve economic independence, will be its charity partner in 2017.

Dress for Success provides a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Established in New York City in 1997, more than 925,000 women have been supported to attain financial independence. It is now a global charity with affiliates in more than 145 cities across 21 countries. More than 20,000 women in Australia have used its services.

Along with its ongoing support for The Pyjama Foundation, Bauer will support Dress for Success across all areas of its business, with various initiatives to help increase its profile and raise money to help women in need achieve their goals.

Fiorella Di Santo, Director of Sales at Bauer Media said: “As Australia’s largest publisher of women’s magazines, empowering women to achieve their goals is the mission of many of our market leading titles. We are delighted to be partnering with Dress for Success in 2017 and look forward to bringing the power of our brands and people to assist in any way we can.”

Dress for Success provides appropriate clothing and styling advice for women that may be seeking to re-enter the workforce after a period of unemployment, women who may need to dress formally for a range of other situations such as appearances in court, attending a funeral and returning to the community after a period of imprisonment. It also provides support to build confidence for a job interview, resume writing assistance or a friendly, supportive environment for women who may just need a little extra help to move forward.

Ursula McGeown, Chief Executive Officer at Dress for Success Sydney added: “Powered by volunteers, we have been able to help more than 20,000 women across Australia on the road to gaining economic independence.

“We know our services make a big impact and with the support of Bauer, hope that number will increase significantly. We are incredibly excited to be partnering with their team and look forward to working together to help more women in need in 2017.”
