Vidgen joined Bauer Media in March 2012 as entertainment editor of Woman’s Day, and has also edited the lifestyle section as well as working on brands including Cosmopolitan, Dolly and Pacific Magazine’s Famous.

Cornelia Schulze, publisher specialist division at Bauer Media, said: “I am very excited about Emma taking on her new role as editor of Real Living. She has an extensive publishing career and brings with her a great passion for anything homes and a deep understanding for our readers’ needs.

“It’s also pleasing that she is an internal candidate, living proof of the breadth and depth of talent that we have within the Bauer business.”

Vidgen saud: “I’m thrilled to be building on Real Living’s strong foundations to lead the brand into an exciting new chapter. I have a strong interest in all things interiors and Real Living is the perfect vehicle for me to satisfy that passion.

Vidgen will start in the role on August 15.
