Baxter, Ferrier and Wilson to discuss legacy of Naked in special founders session at Mumbrella360

The three founders of Naked Communications Australia will be reunited on stage for the first time in more than a decade, in a special session at next month’s Mumbrella360.

And alumni of Naked are being invited to attend the discussion at no cost.

Mat Baxter, Adam Ferrier and Mike Wilson will join Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes and Vivienne Kelly for a live recording of the Mumbrellacast.

Baxter is now global CEO of media agency Initiative; Adam Ferrier is co-founder of full service agency Thinkerbell and Mike Wilson is CEO of Havas Media ANZ.

Last week saw owner Enero announce that it would close Naked, with remaining staff and clients folded into sister agency BMF.

In its heyday, Naked Communications was one of the most controversial – and respected – agencies in Australia, with a unique market position of media neutral communications planning.

Baxter, who is now based in New York, is already primed to deliver the opening keynote on the final day of Mumbrella360 on Thursday June 6.

The additional event will discuss the legacy of Naked, and what the agency would look like if they started it today. It will take place as the final session of Wednesday June 5’s conference sessions.

Mumbrella content director Tim Burrowes said: “The rise and fall of Naked was one of the most significant – and entertaining – stories Mumbrella has covered over the last decade. We couldn’t let the end go unmarked. With Mat and Adam both already on the program, this is too good an opportunity to discuss the significance of Naked just one more time.”

Mumbrella has 40 free session passes available to Naked Communications alumni. The discussion takes place at The Hilton Hotel in Sydney at 5pm on Wednesday June 5.
