BCC AdSystems doing their bit for charity

The staff at BCC AdSystems have pledged to take part in a number of different charitable events this year.    The announcement:

The woollen gloves are off this winter with BCC AdSystems joining forces with a number of charities to help raise much needed funds for some very worthy causes.

In May, BCC staff pulled out their brightest, loudest shirts to raise $500 on Loud Shirt Day for The Shepherd Centre, which develops language in deaf and hearing impaired children so they can reach their full potential in the hearing world. Following what was a very loud and wet May, BCC’s Media Client Service Director Kate Rabbidge promises a completely Dry July, signing herself up for the challenge of abstaining from alcohol for the entire month of July. “It’s apparent that I’m not going to get through this by keeping it quiet,” said Kate. “The fresh faced look on a Monday morning, the ‘I feel great’ comments, the nervous twitching at the mention of a social event….these will all need to be explained!”

Funds raised will directly benefit the lives of adults living with cancer. To support Kate, visit http://www.bcc.com.au/index.php?a=62 .

Later this year, several staff from BCC will be joining 75,000 other Sydneysiders as they compete in the 2010 City to Surf event in August.

This year’s target is $5,000 with all funds raised going towards Room to Read which seeks to improve the lives of millions of children in developing nations by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education.

Raising a remarkable $10,000 last year, BCC will again participate in the Sydney to the Gong bike ride in October to raise funds towards finding a cure for MS. This year will see an expanded BCC team and a whopping $20,000 target.

BCC AdSystems Media MD, Rob Landsberry, said: “Our hectic lives and demanding work schedules often leave no room to give back to society. Contributing time and money to charity is extremely important – and fun – which is why the staff at BCC are excited to be getting involved in the many fundraising events taking place this year.

“I’m sure their efforts will make a huge difference and I wish them the best of luck in successfully raising some much needed funds for some very good causes!”
