Beam Suntory appoints The Monkeys to Canadian Club Whiskey

Beam Suntory has named The Monkeys as its creative agency of record for Canadian Club Whiskey, Mumbrella can reveal.

The news follows Beam Suntory appointing Saatchi & Saatchi, to handle its Jim Bean creative in the Australian market.

Canadian Club Whiskey’s account was held by Sydney independent agency The Works for nine years, but the agency split with both Jim Beam and Canadian Club Whiskey in November last year, after Jim Beam called a global creative review.

Canadian Club’s work with David Boon was one of the most well-known campaigns for the brand under The Works’ creative reign. It won multiple Effie Awards include a Grand Effie in 2015.

Canadian Club is one brand in the Beam Suntory stable that has been heavily localised

Mumbrella understands Beam Suntory and The Monkeys are already working together and an official announcement to market will come when creative is produced.

The appointment comes as Beam Suntory focuses on nurturing Canadian Club’s brand strategy, and works towards being Australia’s leading spirit brand.

One month ago, The Monkey’s announced it had been bought by global professional services company, Accenture.

Other clients include Telstra, Qantas, IGA and Meat and Livestock Australia.

Mumbrella has approached The Monkeys for comment.
