Beautiful Commis wins at ACS National Awards

Andrew Commis ACS received the Australian Cinematographer of the Year trophy at the Australian Cinematographers Society National Awards for his work on Beautiful Kate.

The ceremony, where Robert Richardson received the International Award for Cinematography for Inglorious Basterds, was held last night at the Victorian Arts Centre in Melbourne.

The inaugural ACS-NFSA John Leake OAM ACS Award to an Emerging Cinematographer went to South Australian Kirsty Stark from SA; she will use the $5,000 cash prize on a 16mm project, alongside fellow SA cinematographer Vivyan Madigan.

Three ACS members were also inducted into the organisation’s Hall of Fame: David Burr ACS, David Lewis ACS and Howard Rubie ACS.
