Even Australia’s conquerors of Hollywood had to start somewhere. Usually in an embarrassing ad on the TV. We had a rummage through Australia’s biggest advertising library – Ebiquity’s archive that goes back to 1981 – to dig out the parts of Aussie celebs’ careers they’d probably wish had quietly been forgotten.

Honourable mention should also go to Our Kylie and her debut single Locomotion which features (in my memory) the first obvious product placement in Australian music video (Sportsgirl and Impulse), plus back-up dancers Kate Fischer and Tanya Lacey. Before they became massive stars….bam!
