Bega promotes Matt Gray to head of marketing

Bega has promoted Matt Gray to head of marketing.

Gray has been with the business since 2017 and most recently was the senior marketing manager for Vegemite.

Gray has been with Bega since 2017

Gray was working with the brand when the creative account for Vegemite was awarded to Thinkerbell in 2018, ending a 74-year relationship with JWT (now Wunderman Thompson). Later that year, Bega consolidated its media and creative accounts with the agency.

Gray and Thinkerbell worked on the new Vegemite positioning of ‘Tastes Like Australia‘ back in 2018.

Gray and Thinkerbell also worked together on the back and forth between Vegemite and Marmite which took place during The 2019 Ashes.

Previously, Gray spent five years at Monelez, leaving as category revenue manager for its dairy portfolio. Prior to that he was at Kraft Heinz.

In 2017, Bega Cheese Limited acquired Mondelez International’s Australia and New Zealand grocery and cheese business, including Vegemite.

Gray has been contacted for comment.
