SBS TV channel manager, Ben Nguyen, has been appointed as director of programming at Nine-owned Stan.

Nguyen is joining Nine Entertainment Co owned streaming service, tying up a 13-year stint at SBS.

Nguyen has been channel manager for SBS TV for the past seven years, also filling the responsibilities of channel manager for SBS Viceland over the past six months.

SBS announced the appointment of Natalie Edgar last month, who will be directly replacing Nguyen, which will see a continuation of responsibility for both SBS and SBS Viceland.

Edgar starts the role on 14 June, with Nguyen finishing up the same week, set to start at Stan at the beginning of July.

Upcoming Stan programming includes RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Australia and The L Word: Generation Q Season 2.

In April, Stan also announced a new original series, Wolf Like Me, in association with NBCUniversal streaming service, Peacock.

As of January 2021, Stan currently offers the most Australian content, compared with other streaming service competitors, with 7.38% of its library being local content.
