The best birthday present Ed Kavalee could ask for
As the home of many of his favourite shows and TV stars, Dr Mumbo takes no joy in the ongoing financial woes at Ten, but even he couldn’t help but laugh last night.
Dr Mumbo was pleasantly surprised to see not everyone was woeful about Ten’s administration, including Ed Kavalee and host Tom Gleisner on last night’s Have You Been Paying Attention?
Kavalee told the audience he had received Ten for his birthday, but could not return it as he did not have the receipt.
The comedian also made Dr Mumbo chuckle when he responded to Gleisner’s question “Five well-off Australians are forced to live on the streets, what am I talking about?” with “The Channel Ten Board.”
He didn’t shy away from poking at the competition either.

But it was Gleisner’s remark about a promo for the segment ‘Around the World’ that brought the biggest smile to Dr Mumbo’s face.

Dr Mumbo wasn’t the only one pleased with last night’s show.
I'm calling it. This is the best #HYBPA episode of the season, maybe even ever. Right up my humour's alley

If there’s one thing Dr Mumbo knows for sure – Channel Ten can make him very happy.
This is deadset the best unscripted show on TV Marty Sheargold’s comment “how many bongs did you smoke that morning saw me spit out my wine!

I’ve only really gotten into HYBPA this year but it’s quickly become a staple of my Monday nights (until GOT comes back). It’s probably the only real comedy on Aussie TV that isn’t held back by trying to be too PC and please everyone, they get away with some jokes that could be considered risky these days, but I’m all for it.
