Saatchi & Saatchi and MercerBell announce first creative win since acquisition

Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne and MercerBell have been appointed as creative agencies for Betfair Australia after a strategic and creative pitch.

Betfair Australia is the first joint win for the agencies since Saatchi & Saatchi acquired a 100% stake in MercerBell almost one year ago.

The win is also the first for MercerBell since the agency declined to pitch for the Allianz account, after seven years with the brand.

Mark Cochrane, managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne, described the betting exchange brand as “extremely progressive”.

“The appointment has continued the agency’s momentum into 2017, and we now look forward to doing great things together soon,” Cochrane added.

Pip Kerr, marketing and VIP director at Betfair, said the brand was impressed with the agency’s work.

“Betfair offers a unique and sophisticated wagering option for punters, and the team at Saatchi & Saatchi have demonstrated a great understanding of our place in the market,” Kerr said.

Saatchi & Saatchi’s current clients include Toyota and Ladbrokes while MercerBell’s clients include Foxtel, Qantas and Toyota.
