Big finish for Glee on Ten as Fox8 gets ready for its turn

Thursday night belonged to Ten, with massive audiences for Masterchef and the Glee finale, while David Leckie’s “shit show” Cougar Town lived down to expectations delivering an audience of just 519,000.

The strong night for Ten sees the network heading into the weekend neck-and-neck with Nine, which was lifted by Wednesday’s State Of Origin.

According to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam, Ten won Thursday night with a massive 27.8% share, well ahead of Nine’s 22.1% and Seven’s 19.1%.

With five nights of the ratings week gone, Nine has a share of 24.5%, Ten has 24.1% and Seven is on 22.4%.

Meanwhile, Fox 8 announced today that Glee will be the cornerstone of musical Monday nights from next month. From August 2, the pay TV channel will air Glee from its first episode, followed by UK reality series Pineapple Dance Studios.
