Big Red CEO Bridget Cleary departs
The CEO of Big Red – which has clients including Coles, Optus, BHP and News Corp – will finish up this week.
Bridget Cleary said she will take the summer off before exploring new opportunities later in 2019.
Cleary joined the Melbourne-based creative agency five years ago and spent time as managing partner, before becoming CEO in November 2016.
She’s also spent time at agencies including TBWA, Ogilvy and Sapient Nitro.
Cleary said she’s proud of what she and the agency have achieved in their time together, including “outstanding results for clients, a strong and happy culture focused on training and growth, mar-tech innovation and a clear point of difference”.
She claimed, noting the measurement is “perhaps imperfect”, that Big Red is now Australia’s largest independent advertising agency, and the fourth biggest overall – up from 13th position when she started with the group.
On LinkedIn, she implored marketers who need an agency partner to drive commercial outcomes, to work with Big Red.
Cleary’s replacement is not yet clear.
She sounds like Harold Mitchell with claims like that.

Worked with Bridget briefly while freelancing at Big Red in 2017. Inspirational woman to say the least. Congrats on the next move!

Its healthy to move jobs every few years. Five years is a decent innings by anyone’s standards. She deserves a break. They do great work. Wish her all the best.

Why does there always have to be a ‘Curious’ looking for a negative?I don’t know Bridget, but she’s clearly very good at what she does. Her reasons for moving on after 5 very successful years could be many.
Whatever that reason,it’s her business.
Show some respect.

Why do some people in the ad industry have to be so cynical about others in the industry, you’re just dragging the whole thing down.
