Coles and Medium Rare launch health and beauty magazine

Coles has appointed Medium Rare’s Michelle Bateman to edit a new quarterly title, Health and Beauty Magazine.

Bateman, who was previously editorial director of beautyheaven.com.au, will edit the free publication with a bespoke health and beauty editorial team.

Coles is launching a free quarterly title

The first issue, Summer 2019, features The Block 2017 winner Elyse Knowles, as well as stories about how to reduce stress and achieve goals. It will run in addition to Coles Magazine, which is also produced by Medium Rare.

Coles’ marketing content manager, Maia Bryant, said the magazine would seek to make life easier for the brand’s customers.

“Our new magazine has been created to help Australians navigate the health and beauty aisles through reliable and credible information,” Bryant said.

“We have challenged ourselves to help people live better and healthier lives and we want to show customers how to save money through smarter choices at the checkout. We’re thrilled that leading health and beauty brands have been excited to get on board this new publication.”

Bateman said she was excited to provide Coles customers with valuable content, as well as offer advertisers a “highly engaged audience”.

“Coles Health and Beauty offers readers credible advice, practical tips, helpful how-tos, and an edit of the best buys in the supermarket, from bargain products to hidden gems,” Bateman said.

The announcement comes a day after Coles revealed Tourism Australia marketing boss, Lisa Ronson, as its new CMO. Coles Local’s magazine is run by Keep Left.
