Bill Crews to launch Big Picture Film Festival

Social advocate Reverend Bill Crews is to launch his own film festival aimed at highlighting issues social justice around the world. 

The Big Picture Film Festival will be run by Reverend Crews from 27 February and will feature films that take a stand against social inequality.

“(It) presents a carefully curated boutique selection of exciting new documentary films from around the world. They are stimulating, provocative and persuasive in their examination of issues important to us all,” said Festival Ambassador David Stratton.
Among the films to be featured is the Oscar nominated Five Broken Cameras, a documentary about a Palestinian farmer’s chronicle of his nonviolent resistance to the actions of the Israeli army.

Reverend Crews said he was running the festival to highlight people have have stood up for social justice.

“The Big Picture Film Festival is all about showcasing those who have taken a stand. It is about those people who have, and are, making change in our society,” said Reverend Crews.

Tickets for the festival go on sale from February 15. Information about the festival can be found at The Big Picture Film Festival’s website.
