Fight magazine relaunches after closure of competitor
Blitz Publications has rebranded its bi-monthly mixed martial arts magazine Inside MMA to Fight! Australia.
The rebranding includes a name change, a redesign of the magazine’s layout, and a further push into online content. The name has been changed to line up with the magazine’s sister publication Fight! USA.
Jarrah Loh, editor of Fight! Australia said the rebranding has been in the works for “quite some time” due to the ties with the American publication.
“We’ve been in talks with the US edition and they were pushing to have a global brand. We’re going to have a lot stronger push toward online content and videos, but the hard copy isn’t going away.
“It’s also a coincidence that Bauer has closed their UFC magazine. People have been asking if this rebranding is a related, but it isn’t.”
The first edition of Fight! Australia will go on sale on May 15.
Rival publication group Bauer media closed its UFC magazine at the end of March and will release its final edition this month.
