BMF promotes Jen Speirs to deputy ECD

Enero Group’s BMF has promoted its creative director Jen Speirs to the role of deputy ECD.

Speirs’ promotion follows the departure of BMF’s former-ECD, Cam Blackley, who left the agency to join M&C Saatchi as its chief creative officer.

Dantie van der Merwe, Jen Speirs and David Fraser.

Earlier in January, Alex Derwin was also promoted to the role of executive creative director.

Speirs joined BMF as a creative director in 2016 from her previous role at Foxtel where she was a freelance creative director.

Throughout her career Speirs has worked with clients including Arnott’s, BWS, Telstra, McDonald’s, Wrigley’s, Lipton, Cup-a-soup, Clorox, Johnson&Johnson, BPay and Weight Watchers.

Meanwhile, Dantie van der Merwe and David Fraser have been promoted to creative directors.

Derwin said in a statement: “When you’ve got talent as good as Jen, David and Dantie under your nose it’s a given that they were going step up. They know BMF clients and they work their arses off to deliver world-class thinking on every brief.

“Dave and Dantie have been responsible for some of the best work BMF has made in the last few years. Somehow they manage to balance being both hugely talented and lovely humans. They’re going to take to creative direction like ducks to water.”

Speirs added: “As soon as I walked into the BMF creative department – I could feel that it was different. It’s filled with people who care passionately about the work, each other – and their lives outside.

“The culture here is amazing, and I’m excited to work with Alex to do whatever I can to help it stay that way.”
