The AANA has handed former Toyota GM of marketing Bob Miller the Phil J Warner Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Miller, who is a former AANA (Australian Association of National Advertisers) president has also had over 40 years experience in advertising agencies, client marketing divisions and the media.
At Toyota, where he worked for 14 years, he was involved in the launch of campaigns including the “Oh, What a feeling” jingle and the Camry Chicken character.
The award was announced at the AANA’s inaugural Congress in Sydney today which featured a keynote address from Senator Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.
The Phil J Warner Award for Lifetime Achievement is named after AANA’s inaugural president Phil Warner, who was head of advertising at underwear manufacturer Berlei when he helped found AANA and led the Association from 1928-29.

It was a pleasure to give Bob the Phil J Warner Award for Lifetime Achievement! He’s made a positive difference in the marketing world and continues to add value. I loved his story about needing a USP for his consulting business; recognising that ‘marketing solutions’ had well and truly been used to death, he greeted prospective clients with “Hi, I’m Bob Miller and I’m part of the problem”. You have to be pretty good to start off like that!!
Well done Bob.
