Bonds reunites with Miranda Kerr to launch new Swim line
With new swimwear line Bonds Swim, Bonds has stepped into the popular activewear market.
The Bonds Swim campaign features Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr, who first worked with Bonds in 2002 and rejoined the brand last year for the ‘Classics’ campaign and the centenary celebrations campaign.
“Off the back of the activewear boom, swimwear was the next natural step for us,” Anna Banno, senior designer at Bonds said. “The sport and activewear trend is all about getting outdoors, and for Aussies this is so closely linked to the coastal lifestyle.”
“Staying true to our roots, we are excited to embrace the Aussie beach culture and extend our offering into swimwear,” said Emily Small, head of marketing at Bonds. “It’s a logical and exciting progression for the brand.”
The campaign, creatively directed and produced by the ARC Factory, will be launched in-store and POS, online, including Bonds’ website, social, and video, on September 5.
I usually love Bonds work, but this is pretty ordinary and feels like a massively wasted opportunity given the talent. I fear they spent all of their budget on Miranda and didn’t have anything left for the campaign itself.
