Boost Juice launches fruit matching chatbot to push new smoothie

Boost Juice has launched a Facebook Messenger chatbot to promote the release of its new Tropical Matcha Smoothie.

Boost Juice’s bot will be online until May 28

The ‘Matcha Bot’ can be reached on the Messenger platform, via Boost Juice’s Facebook page. It then engages the customer in conversation before trying to persuade them to play the dating game.

The chatbot offers customers the chance to win vouchers and a trip to Japan by playing the game.

If users accept the game’s terms and conditions – which do not seem to be currently available to view (May 13 update: Now fixed) – the game begins.

The bot then asks a series of multiple choice questions before telling the user which fruit they are a match for.

It then offers users the chance to chat to the fruit in question.

Christian McGilloway, Boost Juice’s head of digital, said in a press release: “We wanted to create a bot that was different to what we’ve seen from other brands, not only did we set out to ensure it had the Boost personality but also it needed to reward our customers.

“Brands get caught up in trying to sell to customers, when really, we just aim to create engaging experiences.”

The Matcha Bot will be active on Facebook until May 28.
