Spark Foundry reshuffles media leadership as CIO Lucie Jansen steps down

Spark Foundry Australia has announced a shake-up within its media leadership team, with Rachida Murray taking on an expanded role leading a consolidated digital and offline media function.

As part of the changes, chief investment officer Lucie Jansen will depart after six years with the Publicis-owned agency.

In a statement, Spark Foundry said Jansen had “chosen to move on to explore new opportunities and spend more time with her family.” Mumbrella understands the departure was initiated by Jansen.

National head of investment Sue-Ellen Osborn has been promoted to replace Jansen as chief investment officer, leading the agency’s media buying strategy.

Osborn will report to Murray, who has been promoted to chief digital and media officer, responsible for unifying Spark Foundry Australia’s investment, digital and technology disciplines “into a single, future-fit media capability.”

Murray has been with the agency for almost 12 years, promoted to chief digital officer in 2022, with technology subsequently added to her remit. According to Spark, she will “focus on further strengthening the connection between the agency’s offline, digital and data specialists.”

Spark Foundry Australia CEO Matthew Turl said Murray’s new role would further the agency’s “connected media promise.”

“[She] is taking on a transformational leadership role overseeing and integrating a cross-channel team of activation specialists,” he said.

Osborn added it was “a privilege to lead one of Australia’s most passionate and creative activation teams.”

“Together, we’ll continue to deliver outstanding and innovative campaign outcomes for our clients, driving real business impact and progression for our talent in an ever-evolving media landscape,” she said.
