Brainlabs announces new global chief operating officer

Media agency Brainlabs has appointed Gravity Media’s Sean Seamer as its global chief operating officer.

The announcement:

Brainlabs, the High-Performance media agency, announced today the appointment of Sean Seamer as the new global chief operating officer.

Today’s news follows the agency’s announcement last week of Sue Unerman as global chief strategy officer, as the agency continues on its mission to dominate the industry in the new era of media agencies.

Sean will work closely with the leadership team to further expand the agency’s geographical footprint both organically and through future acquisitions, as well as to lead the agency’s operations, supporting the rapid growth of the business.

Seamer brings a wealth of industry experience. He joins Brainlabs from Gravity Media, where he served as president for over two years. Prior to this he was CEO of Supercars for four years. Sean’s extensive agency background includes senior leadership roles within the MediaCom and GroupM Network, culminating in his position as CEO of MediaCom Australia and New Zealand from 2015 to 2018.

Dan Gilbert, CEO of Brainlabs, commented on the appointment: “Sean is a fearless leader with unparalleled operational excellence and experience in driving growth. His understanding of what brands need in today’s complex digital environment paired with the Brainlabs’ ‘High-Performance’ approach to data, tech and talent will be an unbeatable combination as we continue on our path to becoming the world’s largest independent full-service media agency.”

Seamer said “I am thrilled to be joining Brainlabs at a time where the agency is on a meteoric rise. The opportunity to be part of building a new era media agency is exhilarating. The talent in Brainlabs is outstanding and I look forward to harnessing the power of Brainlabs tech and talent to deliver game-changing results for clients in the US and across even more markets”.

Brainlabs has grown exponentially in recent years, transforming from a PPC agency into one of the fastest growing full-service independent media agencies, with offices across key locations serving Namer, APAC, Europe and Latam. With clients including Estée Lauder Companies, adidas, Walmart, Polaroid and Consumer Cellular, last year the agency announced its new investment partner, private equity firm Falfurrias Capital Partners, which has further accelerated the agency’s global expansion. In late 2023 opened the doors of its new Poland operations followed by the acquisition of Australia’s leading independent digital media agency, Sparro in January 2024.

Sean will be based in the US, working closely with CEO Dan Gilbert and executive chairman Stephen Allan.
