Brisbane Advertising Association in floods fundraiser
Brisbane Advertising Association is to hold a fund-raising lunch to help those within the industry who suffered setbacks as a result of January’s flood disaster.
The March 11 event will feature Ten presenter George Negus as guest speaker.
BAA usually raises funds for other charities at its quarterly lunches including Starlight, Queensland Cancer Council and Guide Dogs Queensland. John Droulers, president of BAA, said: “In light of the recent events however, we’ve decided to direct all funds raised from our March lunch to help those in our own industry who were directly affected by the devastation that these floods left in their path.
“We are also asking folk in our industry to nominate someone in need, so we can help in some way to fast-track their return to a normal life, which for some could take up to twelve months.”
The association knows of more than ten people form within the industry who lost everything they owned in the flood.
It is pertinent to note that John Droulers, president of BAA also lost everything in the flood.

Toti I thank you for your comment and I would like to put on record that neither I or my family will be benift from this lunch in any way shape or form as we are covered by insurance this lunch is for those that are not as fortunate as us and need a hand to get back on track.
In fact my wife and I have bought a table and have invited those people that helped us clean out our house after the floods.
John
