Brisbane radio ratings: Bianca, Terry and Bob help 97.3FM to overall win

Nova 106.9 has finally lost its grip on the largest overall audience share shot in Brisbane, after falls across breakfast and drive.

In the second radio ratings survey of the year, 97.3FM – a joint venture between Nova and Australian Radio Network – took the overall first place slot thanks to a strong performance across the morning shows.

The result was helped by the 97.3 FM breakfast team featuring Bianca, Terry and Bob, after the show gained 1.1 ratings points from last survey.

The strong performance tied the breakfast show for first position with last survey’s winners – Hit 105’s breakfast radio show with Abby Coleman, Stav Davidson and Matty Acton.

Nova’s Ash Bradnam, Kip Wightman and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral achieved the next best breakfast share with 11.6%, despite another fall, this time of 0.6 points.

Triple M’s breakfast show featuring Greg Martin, Robin Bailey and Lawrence Mooney came next, with a 1.0 point ratings boost from last survey, providing a 11% share.

The ABC’s one-time breakfast slot winner Craig Zonca fell the furthest from last survey, dropping 2.5 points to an 8.6% share.

Despite a 1.1 point fall in drive, Nova’s Kate, Tim & Marty managed to hang on to a dominant audience share of 14.2%.

SCA’s Hit Network’s new drive format featuring Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, followed by David Hughes and Kate Langbroek achieved second place in drive.

Hit’s drive show – which was filled by Hamish and Andy until the end of last year – gave a 12.9% share, up 0.2 ratings points from last survey.

Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw’s (Will & Woody) 97.3 FM show remained steady in the third drive-time position, with a 12.1% share.

A strong performance gave 97.3 FM a rare win in the people 10+ demographic, achieving a 12.9% share thanks to a 0.8 point increase from last survey.

Thanks in part to its drops in breakfast and drive, Nova lost its overall audience share crown, with a 12.1% share.

Hit 105 achieved third place, after a 0.6 ratings point drop provided it with a 11.2% share.

Talking Lifestyle yet again performed the worst of any station across breakfast, drive and overall audience share. The station is to shut down and be replaced with a sports format.
