Brisbane-based communications agency BBS has rebranded to BBS Communications Group.

The announcement:

July 25, 2011 –

National Brisbane-based communications consultancy, BBS, last night launched a new brand and refreshed structure to kick off the new financial year.

The new brand, BBS Communications Group, was launched on Thursday July 21 at Alchemy restaurant with the theme “Running with the Bulls”.

More than 90 clients and friends of BBS turned out to enjoy the Spanish-themed event which included an address by Bank of Queensland CEO David Liddy, a long-term client of BBS.

Established as a communications consultancy for almost 23 years, BBS has been involved with major infrastructure projects around the country and given communications advice to some of Queensland and Australia’s largest corporations.

BBS Communications Group Executive Chairman Lady Jane Edwards said the success of the business has been embracing change.

“At BBS we have pioneered many of the strategies and techniques widely used in our industry today,” Lady Edwards said.

“Nimble thinking and intense commitment to the needs of our clients have put us at the top of our field and kept us there for more than two decades.

“Now, to take us on to the next stage, we are changing our name and logo to better reflect the skills we are offering our clients, including our digital media work which is setting new standards for our sector.”

BBS Communications Group has launched five practice areas; Corporate Communications, Community Engagement, Investor Relations, Media Relations and Digital Media.

Lady Edwards said the practice areas were a clearer way of articulating the group’s services to clients, and staff will work across multiple practice areas, depending on what each client needs.

“We will still offer our clients the same high standard of service they have come to expect, but the practice areas will simply formalise the key communications needs of our clients and reflect the evolving landscape of the communication sector,” she said.

Corporate Communications – enhancing reputation management through branding, internal communication and government relations

Community Engagement – community and stakeholder engagement programs for public policy, major infrastructure projects and developments

Investor Relations – communication for capital raisings, IPOs and annual reporting, as well as communicating with the financial and investor markets during mergers, acquisitions and insolvency matters

Media Relations – generating media coverage, organising publicity strategies, managing issues and crises

Digital Media – creating social media strategies to connect with customers and other key stakeholders, raise brand awareness to support marketing objectives, and to monitor and address public opinion.
