British Council’s Realise Your Dreams contest features Vivienne Westwood, Noel Fielding and Stephen Fry

The British Council has launched a campaign to promote its long-running Realise Your Dreams competition, which aims to foster creative collaboration between creative industries in the UK and Australia.

The scheme is aimed at “emerging leaders working in the creative industries, primarily aged 18 to 35 who are savvy, culturally switched-on, talented, educated and ambitious,” according to a press release.

The campaign, created by design agency Boccalatte, centres on an animated TVC, which is also being promoted online as a viral video.

The campaign uses quirky imagery and iconic British creative figures, including Vivienne Westwood, Noel Fielding & Stephen Fry and Damien Hirst’s famous formaldehyde-preserved cow.

The primary colour palette was, according to Boccalatte’s press release, inspired by Dr Seuss. Entrants can follow the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag #RYD2012. The promotion will also include radio and print executions.

The winning three Australians will be awarded a return trip to the UK, $10,000 and a professional development program which includes introductions to creative leaders in the UK.

National Australia Bank, Virgin Atlantic and triple j are the award’s major sponsors.
